Flash clockworkmod and reboot but stays in sprecovery

I just rooted my moto droid 2.1 did a nandroid backup in sprecovery. Now I try to flash clockworkmod and reboot into clockwork but it keeps bringing me to sprecovery reboot screen. what gives? How do I get to Clockwork reboot?
