Flash Lite 4.0 on Incredible... actually pretty good!

I tested out quite a few sites that use flash. ign.com works great to watch video game reviews etc. I noticed very little lag in the movies. Also watching full episodes on sho.com like dexter and californication works seamless and noticed little to no lag in video quality. Hoping it will get upgraded to 10.1 later and then Hulu will work but for now it works better than I expected! :icon_ banana: Anyone else have good experiences so far? Any cool flash sites that work that I should be checking out? :greendroid:

Respectfully, though it is better than no Flash, the following problems exist that do not in Flash Lite 3.1 on Archos 5 (uses Opera) or the N900.

1. You can not activate full-screen, so videos play at whatever resolution they have in the embedded icon. Pinch zooming videos to full screen simply zooms the small emebbed icon from the small area of resolution it has in the icon (very low res). If the full-screen could be launched, the videos would play at their native resolution.

Flash Lite 3.1 allows full screen video and so does N900 (but full Flash, so not fair comparison).

2. Dailymotion and other more popular Flash sites do not work, but should. Not a Flash 10 issue, since a lot work with Flash 3.1 lite and all work with full Flash on N900 (Flash 9).

3. Same issue with games. Virtually no games worked, but work fine on Flash 3.1 and the N900. Still, most games do not work well, since no keyboard, but at least they "work" on Flash Lite 3.1.

It appears that either the Android browser is causing the function issues or Flash Lite 4 has been seriously tuned down, compared to 3.1.

Flash 10.1 with 2.2 Android should fix current issues.

Well I for one think it works great. It's not like their are a lot of mobile devices out there that support flash at all. And coming from zero flash support (so far) on moto droid I am quite pleased. Try watching full episodes on sho.com like Dexter and Californication. It works great and The resolution doesn't seem to drop on pinch zoom. Yes full screen support would be nice but with 10.1 around the corner I am sure it will be functioning by then. Apparently they will show off 10.1 in May at the Google I/O and then a public release in June. And honestly I could care less about flash games. Most of them are terrible. I just want a great internet browsing experience and be able to watch some video.

If you're not happy with Flash Lite, you could always use the new Skyfire browser that allows you to watch Flash videos.

skyfire does a great job converting flash videos. definitely suggest grabbing it in the market.

I don't like that Skyfire says they monitor your web browsing in the terms of service though... sketch?

Can somebody check out radiotime.com for me to see if u can listen to music from their site? If u can a specific station.: 93.9 WKYS in Washington DC?

I checked for you. That method did not work for me. Although... It is really easy to acheive what you are trying to do through other methods on the incredible.

1) The first method is the built in FM tuner. You just need to use headphones because they act as the attenae.

2) If you wanted to use the speakers their is an app called Iheartradio by clear channel. It allows you to listen to live fm radio from all over the country on your phone. I checked and while I didn't see WKYS it had DC101, Hot 99.5, etc.

3) Their is also last.fm or pandora which IMHO is better than live FM stations.

Hope that helps... I am from the area as well. Out in Tysons Corner, VA.

I'm surprised no one thought of this earlier. Ripping the source embeded flash urls out and redirecting them to a separate player.... haha.. It's not truely embedded, but I guess it's a work around.

I tried it, had about 50/50% success/failure on varying sites with it. I'll stick with the stock browser for now.

That helped. Thanks. I dont have the Incredible, I tried on my Droid with Skyfire but it was a no go. And RadioTime is the ONLY app/website that gives me all the local stations and some extras from around the country I wanna listen to.

All others, the closest they have is 3-5. I have about 12-14 I listen to. I wanted to see if Incredible with its FM Radio better worked for that site right now. FM Radio is the ONLY thing I miss from my last smartphone.

Adobe cant move fast enuff for me....
