How do you move a folder from one screen to another without losing it?

long press the folder. then drag it to the edge of the screen and hold it till the next screen slides over.

long press on icon, and move to folder.

think of long press as click and hold like you would on PC

Wow. I wondered the same thing, tried a long press and "toss" gesture, which of course didn't work, and gave up. I then spent 5 minutes reassembling my folder on another screen. Thanks for saving me the trouble (for next time).
