Force close and the letter Q

Help please! I have a Thunderbolt.. and suddenly I started getting Force close messages on almost every view.. email, text, photos, calendar.. in addition hours later when I tried sending text messages every letter I typed displayed as Q or q. In addition, I have a mac computer. I'm concerned my phone is shutting down and I need to be sure I have securely backed up my calendar and photos. I welcome any and all suggestions. Thank you! try a reboot .. and calandar should be backed up via your google account if you are using the built in calendar app.

if reboot does not work you may have to do a factory reset.. have you donwloaded any new apps past couple of day .

No new apps. I turned it off, took out battery. The sd card had slipped and I pushed it back in, then booted the phone back up.. but still the same.
