Force Closes on Messaging and typing apps

Hello,
Recently on my Droid 2 Global I have been getting issues whenever I want to type something. It started occuring every once in a while and has lead to everytime I try to use the app(s).
On Handcent SMS, Original Messaging App, Facebook Status Update,and Twitter Status Update everytime I type a word and hit space, the app freezes up and force closes. This occurs mostly on the QWERTY keyboard but also occurs on the touch screen keyboard (it's extremely glitchy).

I got tired of the problem and just did a factory reset. It has fixed the problem for now.

Did you lose all your contact info when you did the reset?

I have it all backed up to my Gmail account but I did have to reinstall apps.
