Force YouTube to default to HQ

Dang! Gotta be rooted for this eh? Hmm almost enough of a reason for me to do it (I don't care about the access, custom ROMs, etc etc that most people root for). Any chance this also includes some workaround so you don't still run in to the problem that videos don't buffer/load when paused (in the native app), and in HQ play too quickly for the loading to keep up? I always have to end up going to youtube through the browser because of it.

Doesn't creating or logging in to your own youtube account allow you to set the Playback Setup to "I have a fast connection. Always play higher-quality video when it's available." ? Doesn't this obviate the need to root your Droid? Of course you have to go to the trouble of creating an account and then logging in with the youtube app.

Edited to complete the last sentence.

That same site offers a VERY EASY and quick rooting guide. As well as several other useful guides (nanodroid install ect.). And I always generally go from within the browser too, just find it more convenient (xScope is GREAT).

.

Yep, this way no matter what you do you get the HQ feed. It's not 'mandatory' or anything just one of those "why the h3ll not" sort of things.
