Foursquare force close

Hello, I am new to these parts so let me first introduce myself. My name is Derek and I am an unemployed network administrator. Now on to my issue. I an an avoid user of the foursquare app and after its last update it will force close after I hit the "places" button. Has anyone else had this issue and found a fix?
