Fresh .29 SBF experiencing update issues

Hi guys,

Just SBFed my phone, as it was rebooting a lot. I am in China now so the internet is rather slow, so I used the .29 file.

I am unable to update to the .33 update. When I select check for updates it switches to the screen really fast and then jumps back. Additionally the Market is not automatically showing me ALL of my paid/free apps linked to the account - it does show some. I have wiped Market cache just to see if that was the problem.

Could it be that my WiFi is spotty here and the internet isn't able to stay active long enough to do these activities? Downloading apps from the Market isn't an issue, so I don't see why it would be.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

You mentioned that you're in China; some resources are blocked there, and Motorola's OTA update mechanism might also be having difficulties traversing the transparent proxies used there.

Have you tried using a VPN?

I have not tried a VPN, I have a buddy who has one, so I can always try to hop on his connection. Again, I can bypass some of the problems here, but I would assume that being in China is the problem.

If I decide to SBF to .33, can I NOT clear cache and have all of my settings, etc. still there? Almost like upgrading through OTA. I don't want to go through the hassle of downloading and installing and setting up everything again.

I am unable to download the .330 from any filesharing sites. There are a few that work (maybe uploading) but I am not too sure. Any other hosts out there?

Unfortunately this will bring you to our of the box settings as did the. 29 sbf.

I would definitely interested in the file. Maybe I will bite the bullet and buy Titanium Pro so I can save myself some time there.
