Try taking out battery for 5 minutes. If your rooted hold down x and power to boot into recovery mode. If your not rooted and have same problem after 5 minutes of battery pull take itback to verizon. That's what I would do but I'm still a noob.
Sounds like a hardware issue, and Verizon should give you a replacement no problem. Google does a good job of backing up your info to the cloud, so don't worry! At least it happened at three months, and not 12 months and one day!
