Fujitsu just debuted a new Android tablet for the masses. It was seen in a mini-review at UK website, V3. The tablet has a "stylish" name; it is called the Fujitsu Stylistic M532. It is designed to be a thin and light Android tablet for the business market. Here's a breakdown of specs:
- 10.1-inch screen (1280 x 800 pixels)
- 8.6mm thick and 560g in weight
- 1.4GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core ARM processor, with an integrated GeForce GPU
- Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform
- 1GB memory
- 32GB Flash storage
- 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi
- Bluetooth
- Built-in 3G/HSPA modem with GPS
- Standard SIM card slot, microSD slot, & Micro USB port
- HDMI output and a docking connector for use with a desktop cradle.
- 8-megapixel camera with autofocus and flash in the rear, plus a forward-facing 2-megapixel for video conferencing
Many of our users will be glad to hear that Fujitsu's Stylistic M532 is using a vanilla version of Android Ice Cream Sandwich. Fujitsu purposefully chose not to customize the platform with a proprietary GUI overlay. This will make the tablet much easier to upgrade when new Android updates are released.
Fujitsu did pre-install several apps designed to help the business user, including ThinkFree Mobile office suite, Norton Tablet Security, Nitrodesk TouchDown email client, plus Citrix Receiver and VMware View clients. The Stylistic M532 will be available in the UK in mid-June for £476.
