G mail randomly has no connection? all other functions of droid work fine

I installed the free advanced task killer app and used it once to close my gmail app. Since then when I go to the gmail app again, it won't load my emails and instead says " No connection" with the option to retry connecting. I have done this about 10 times, and it won't load my emails. I uninstalled advanced task killer and restarted my phone and gmail still won't load. Anyone know how to fix this? I have a pending outbox message that I don't want to lose... thanks in advance

I had the same thing yesterday and found this:
1) Go into the settings menu for the phone
2) Choose applications
3) Choose Manage Applications
4) Under Manage Applications set the Filter to ALL
5) Scroll down and choose GMail Storage
6) Tap the button for Clear Data

It worked for me. I've heard it suggested it was because gmail went to https..... Hope this helps. You might want to try to go into your outbox and open the message there and copy it to a text file before you do that. I can do that in Outlook, but have never tried it with gmail.....

Followed insturctions above and I'm saved from a hard reset.
