It turns out that the YOUM flex-display equipped Galaxy Note Edge from Samsung is only a "limited edition concept device." This assertion comes from Samsung directly. They also shared that only 1 Million units will be sold in 2014.

Samsung claimed the Note Edge was a "technology-intensive," device, which probably means it is still difficult for them to mass produce the YOUM displays. The Note Edge will begin selling in South Korea in late October. Other regions may have to wait until next year.

For reference, the normal version of the Galaxy Note 4 will be released in South Korea on Friday, September 26. It will eventually come to 140 additional markets by the end of October, and its official US launch date is still October 17th.

Suspicions confirmed then. Thanks for the info! Glad I went ahead and pre-ordered the standard Note 4.

Wonder what the price points will be. Might limit them to even less than 1 million.

smart move...sort of. Put a limited number on the market and see if there is a demand. If so then like the phablet they have another big hit on their hands. If not, then they can cut their losses short.....or they will sell it on the play store as an "unlocked bootloader google play edition note 4" which will definitely get a bite especially if priced right.
