The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is the latest premium Android Honeycomb tablet, on top of that, it also gets to call itself the latest tablet to run Ubuntu. This tablet is not quite ready to boot Ubuntu as a native OS yet, and dual booting isn’t here yet sadly. What it can do, is run Ubuntu as a virtual software solution. This isn’t for those of you who are trying to program the next Windows 7 on your tablet. It’s not complete, but it is something to play with, and show off to your Apple loving friends.

This hack isn’t much different than the rest. You can install it very quickly by following the how to guide in the source link, and in less than 10 minutes you’ll have Ubuntu running on your Tab 10.1. The Tablet must be rooted for any of this to go down.

If you’re interested in giving this a try, follow the link. For more discussions on the Galaxy Tab be sure to visit Galaxy Tab Forum

So it sounds like linux is running the tablet 'behind the scenes' and you have to VNC into your own tablet to see the gui. Wonder if they would consider that tethering on the 3G signal.
