Gallery 2.1 not showing files

I am rooted on CM 5.0.6.2 I copied a bunch of JPG files to my SDcard. When I open Gallery they do not appear. Older files that are in the same directory do appear. So I know it knows how to find the location. If I use root explorer I can open the files and view them one by one but not as a slide show. Any ideas?

OK I solved it. I had to remove the .nomedia file from the directory.
