And you must be on stock Froyo .340 in order to get the update, no exceptions.

For past updates you could be rooted and receive the update if you were running the stock rom with all the bloat / blur in place. I would assume its going to be the same this go round.

Hmmm. I might just go to odexed 595 and sit there for a while. I miss the speed improvements of Gingerbread vs FroYo and it sounds like it might take a while to get 596 rooted.
