general rom/root question

i bought the tbolt a day or so after it came out, but havent rooted or anything.. just wondering how the ROMs are working out. do most work fine?

wifi, gps, force closes, data, etc?

i also read that verizon may be blocking rooted phones from certain things. even if you unroot.
