i started getting a notification noise with the green flashing light with nothing on the notification screen a few days ago. i uninstalled a few things i recently installed and now it still does it (about 4 times a day) but now the noise is distorted.

If nothing else works you can try a factory reset as a last resort.

Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Xparent Cyan Tapatalk 2

I too am getting this mystery notification or "ghost" notification. A short 2tone flutey phone sound. It started about a month or so ago after an update from the OS. Nothing shows up in the notification bar. It happens whether the phone is plugged in or not, whether the batter is full or not, whether the phone is in use or not. It seems totally random when it goes off. My phone IS NOT ROOTED. My first thought was that it was yahoo, but all those notifications have been disabled. The sound settings in main droid settings menu show nothing either. It happens throughout the day and night. The only time I don't hear it is when phone is in silent mode. I've gone through all the running apps and nothing shows an active notification. I am holding out on a factory reset as that will be doubleplus ungood and an absolute last resort.

About 2 months after buying my RAZR, I started getting random rings beginning about 6PM, lasting until sometime past midnight. The ringtone does not sound like any found in the list. I went to the Verizon store 3-4 times only to be told to uninstall apps until it goes away. Well, that didn't sound like fun. That was in November and I did nothing. Recently the calls diminished and now have gone away. What a PITA.
