Gingerbread not coming to droid 1?

Has anyone seen or heard anything else about this. It def makes me upset if its true but I was hoping to upgrade between dec and feb anyways as long as the phone I upgrade to can have root access.

Droid 1 will not get GB. Minimum device requirements are not going to be met. So Verizon/Moto is creating a need to upgrade.

The original iPhone wasn't able to handle the most recent update of OS4 either. It's just how things go regarding technology.

Indeed. And it drives sales, because you need a newer device. Companies know what they're doing.

Can we get an official FROYO first, and THEN complain about Gingerbread?


Personally I could not care less. 2.1 is AWESOME in my opinion. I would not mind being "stuck" with it for the rest of my contract. Give me 2.2 and FLASH and that will certainly hold me over. Then when I get to upgrade I can get the Kolache OS.
(i.e nature of technology... quit pining for the next great thing and enjoy what you got. This is the [contractual] world we live in)

Odd that they're gonna push Froyo and then 3 months later push GB. Although, it does make sense in terms of giving Droid customers something new before releasing the next best thing.
