So I've been thinking about this update we are all hoping will come. Does anyone think it's possible that the leaked builds are for the X2 and the X is never going to get gingerbread?

Nah the Droid X is getting GB. Take a look at droid life's website and there was a test update sent to a testing phone that someone got and shows the update being pushed to the phone. They got it all ready, just a matter of when there sending it to us.

gingerbread is the most up to date version of the android operating system for phones. currently most phones are on froyo and only a handful have been given gingerbread officially.

I just upgraded to the leaked OTA from Droid Life and gingerbread on the X is a very nice upgrade. It feels hmm.. what word to use.. Spunkier? haha
