First of all let me say, I'm new to this whole "rooting" and "custom ROMs" thing. Understandably I was so nervous when I read Jsuh's post.
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/ht...e-root-flash-android-2-2-froyo-your-eris.html

I am a bit of a computer geek and know quite a bit about computers, however I was kind of nervous about doing anything to my phone. I mean, it's my phone, what would happen if I bricked it? What would I do then with no phone? Let me just say for anyone wanting to root their phone and have a kick-butt 2.2 froyo ROM on their device should FOLLOW THIS POST! I've read a lot of posts on forums and blogs on how to do all this and have NEVER seen such a simplified post that followed every step to the letter! I just wanted to publicly thank Jsuh for his post. It was so easy and so laid out that it is virtually impossible to screw it up! My Droid Eris is now running the newest 2.2 froyo ROM (kaosfroyo v39) and is quicker and cooler than ever! Everything is faster, uninstalling apps, installing apps......even TETHERING! Hey seriously, thanks again Jsuh from a now proud Eris owner! You have no idea how much your post helped me out !

I was kind of worried at first after flashing because it stayed on the boot animation for a while. Apparently though that is just the first time it's starting because now it even starts up twice as fast as when I had stock 2.1

This guy should get a medal or nobel prize or something! LOL

Also a very big thanks to everyone involved with the development of the software that made this all possible! Oh and by the way guys, if you download the kaosfroyo ROM, donate to the guys coffee fund! LOL

Thanks again Jsuh !:droideris:

While I would love to take credit for this, the tutorial was posted by jsuh, and the work is all his.

lol yeah I just noticed that today, I'm an idiot ! I was looking at who posted last, not who started the topic haha ! I will make the right corrections !

Also I have a question for anyone reading who might know. How do I get rid of some of the apps that came with kaosfroyo v39 ??? There's a lot of apps on there that I really don't want i.e. autokiller, google maps, latitude, terminal emulator and twitter. There's just way too many icons on the app drawer and I would like to know if I can use Uninstaller For Root or if there's another way to get rid of these ? Any help would be greatly appreciated ! Thanks !
