GLBenchmark Updates to 2.5 for Android with More Stringent Graphics Tests

Even though the GLBenchmark 3.0 version is likely only a few months away, there is already an incremental 2.5 update. This one uses basically the same OpenGL 2.0 tests and animations, but the settings push the graphics harder and are far more stringent on the performance. This test results in some dramatically smaller frame-rates, even for newer GPUs, which could lead some to jump to the wrong conclusion about current hardware. Still, it makes sense that they would release this update in preparation for the next one.

The scenes of these Benchmarks are more complex now, and also default to a 1080p resolution. With a benchmark like this seriously testing the hardware to its limits, it will be interesting to see how things look in the fall when the OpenGL ES 3.0 standard can be tested on the newer hardware coming out.
