My wife was a little too excited about her new Eris phone and set up her Gmail account with the Gmail app and she also set up her email account with the regular email app. She actually has two gmail accounts. We can't figure out how to delete the email accounts she set up with the regular email app. We also have tried to set up another email account with the Gmail app but it isn't giving us that option.

HELP!

Ok we have figured out how to delete the additional account in the regular email app. We still can't figure out how to add an additional Gmail account using the Gmail app. Any ideas? Can she have two gmail accounts using the Gmail app?

From what I have figured out you can't with the Eris I know my buddy can add another gmail account with the Moto Droid. But I do not have the same options on my Eris.

I have 2 gmail accounts set up on my Droid. Upon going into my gmail for the first account, I touched the menu and one of the options was, "Add account." I followed the prompts and added the 2nd account there.

Hope this helps!

I have the Motorola Droid which easily lets you set up multiple gmail accounts (cliick menu and the option to "add accounts" pops up.

I helped a friend set up his Droid Eris last night and this option currently doesn't exist. I would assume an update would fix this.

For my buddy's Eris, we had to set up his second Gmail account through the POP/IMAP settings (which can be obtained under the "Settings" tab of your gmail account. Unfortunately, we had to type all the information in manually but it works fine.

Most of the comments above are correct. You cannot currently setup more than one account under the gmail application on the HTC Droid Eris. Use the Mail application and you can setup your secondary gmail account using IMAP.
Supposedly, the ability to have multiple gmail accounts on the Gmail app is coming with the major version update for us.

This is just spreading hopeful rumors, but I spoke on the phone last week with a Verizon "Droid specialist", who stated that the next major update was coming in late January. I hope this is the Q1 Android 2.1 update that's been rumored around the Internet.

I have three Gmail accounts that i use regularly. I just forwarded two of those accounts into my main Gmail account and it works perfectly.

The Verizon salesman setup a gmail account on my new Eris, but he fat fingered my username in the gmail app. How do I go in and change it?
How do I delete the gmail app and re-install it?

To use 2 Gmail accounts on the Droid Eris, set up your second Gmail account with the regular email app. The Droid Eris still runs 1.5, unlike the Moto Droid, and can't have 2 default Gmail accounts set up.

You can't reinstall the default apps. To change the default Gmail account, you have to Master Reset the phone.

I have yahoo mail, corporate sync mail, and my gmail account on my phone.
The yahoo mail and corporate mail shows up under the "Messaging" app, which also has "text messaging" and "universal inbox" in the app.
But my gmail account does not show up.

Anyone have the issue and know why?

I go to the google mobile site and use the gmail app but its only gmail on the go. Know where I can get the actual phone app?

Missing Gmail in Universial Inbox

I too had the same problem, finally I stumbled across the solution;
At your home screen, open app tray.
Scroll down to My Accounts
Click Add account
Click Email
Enter gmail address and password

It will then create a Gmail Icon in the Messaging Folder and your gmail messages will now begin to show up in your Universal Inbox.
