Gmail Contacts Sync Question, help?

Got my droid eris and so far I love it. Even the battery life, which could be better, kills my htc touch pro.

I tried to search for answer, but only found one for the moto droid. How do I chose which contacts my gmail snycs with? Right now it's syncing with all my contacts, but only want a portion of that.

Any help would be appreciated.
