Gmail notification tweaks

Love my 2 day old Droid, but I'd like to tweak one Gmail notification function. There an app or setting which will add mail which goes to labels other than the Inbox to the notifications bar? I use a complicated system of filters, and most of my mail does not go to the Inbox. It would ideal if I could choose only certain labels...

One thing I tried was to create a new TAG (gmail.com) and then set up a filter that would add a tag to an incoming email. When it comes in to my phone it shows the tag in the inbox. You can then select the MENU button and then look at your conversations by tag.

Not perfect but it works.
