Gmail won't get new emails since last thursday. I have a HTC Incredible with the latest firmware.
Already tried:
- Clear data
- Clear storage
- Force stop Gmail and Gmail storage

Can't remove my gmail account without resetting to factory.

The account is setup right, it just doesn't sync. Says "emails will show shortly".

What else could I try?

Thanks so much

I was syncing manually for some time recently. Can you go in and hit refresh from the account? I did this because who I report to reports to the CFO. Ever stood in a room when someone else has a dorky sound that everybody stares at like they had a kick me sign on them...? Now do that in front of an CFO where the topic is an auditor report request conversation. Nah, I do not wear kick me signs....I rub them in while walking out the door with you and your tail tucked like all grown little sisters should....Would manuel refresh work as a short term fix?

Thanks for the reply. But manual refresh was the 1st thing I tried and it won't work.

Don't use a task killer. Don't kill tasks.

Make sure sync is on. Long press your home screen and add the Power Control widget. Make sure the two arrows in a cirlcle are on. Go to phone settings and make sure gmail sync is on...should be under phone settings > accounts

If it still doesn't work do this:
Phone settings > applications > manage applications > menu > filter > all > Gmail storage > clear data

I have power control widget always, and sync is on.
I have also cleared the storage data. Didn't work.

In addition to the power widget sync, also make sure gmail sync is on.

Clearing Gmail storage data removes all mail from the phone so it has to download from gmail's servers. No big deal even though it pops up a scary dialog box about deleting all settings, etc.

I have gone to settings > accounts & sync. Sync is on, and gmail account is also there. If I try to force a "sync all" nothing seems to happen, not sure if anything should happen visually.

I have gone to applications > manage applications > gmail > clear data
it even says 0kb now

also went to gmail storage, and clear data, 0kb now

even google apps is cleared

Hi, i tried removing the battery. Didn't help.
I have not installed any apps or done any updates in a long time, so it can't be the cause.

All the syncs are turned on, but on Gmail is keeps saying "waiting for sync"

Not sure what else I can do.

Thanks

Can you check one more thing to see if this works? (You have mentioned that "Sync is on" for Gmail; HOWEVER, you haven't confirmed if you have done these specific steps yet...)

Please try these following steps:

1) Menu
2) Settings
3) Accounts & sync
(NOW.... PLEASE CONFIRM IF YOU HAVE DONE THESE STEPS)>>>>
4) CLICK ON YOUR XXXXXX@GMAIL,COM ACCOUNT!!!
5) CHECK THE BOX THAT SAYS Sync Gmail

Let us know if this was the issue! Best of luck!

I think the problem started when I started getting notification that phone storage was getting low. Since then, I cleaned a lot of stuff, there is now a lot of space, but I actually keep getting the notification.

I just checked:
Phone storage available - 6.2gb
Phone memory - 671mb

1) Menu
2) Settings
3) Accounts & sync
(NOW.... PLEASE CONFIRM IF YOU HAVE DONE THESE STEPS)>>>>
4) CLICK ON YOUR XXXXXX@GMAIL,COM ACCOUNT!!!
5) CHECK THE BOX THAT SAYS Sync Gmail

Yes, I mentioned I have done that.
That box is already checked. I even tried unchecking and checking it again. I also tried clicking on Sync Now.

 Damn.... I wonder what it could be?!?!

I would be rather surprised if it were a storage issue with your Gmail though? I've used Gmail for many years and currently have over 7,000 emails in my Gmail inbox... and I can access it all synced through my Droid!

I hate to say it, but it might be time call your phone service provider's tech support. :icon_eek:

If I can think of anything else, I'll post back again.
