GMAIL wont update

When i try to update the Gmail from the market, i continually receive a "update unsuccessful" or "installation error". The installation error is includes a pop up that says" Package file was not signed correctly". I have cleared data for Gmail and cleared cache for Market, but no progress.

ANY IDEAS??

ps - i was having issues sending email (stuck in outbox), so i cleared data in "manage applications" and works now....
