good free app for recording audio on droid?

anyone know of a good free app to use to record audio clips and convert to ringtone?

Two options

I've found Rehearsal Assistant and DroidRecord to both be very good voice recording apps for the Droid phone. Both are free and you can email the audio files from your phone. Both use .3gpp file format which is very small

For example, I recorded a 90 min. discussion and the file was 9MB

All things being equal, I prefer Rehearsal Assistant over DroidRecord but check them both out since they have slightly different features.

Almost forgot - DroidRecord has a ringtone feature (since you asked)

I tried most of the voice recording apps I could find in the Market and found Rehersal Assistant to be the best. The fact that it can record WAV files is very nice. The quality is a lot better than I thought it would be too. And converting from WAV to MP3 for ring tones is a lot easier than 3gp to MP3.

If you do need to convert from 3gp to MP3, I found Oxelon Media Converter to be very easy and very free.
