Good Morning.. (Or afternoon)! New Droid user

I got my DROID about 2 weeks ago and I love it so far. There is so much to learn about it that I decided to join this forum. I've kinda just been doing trial and error on figuring it all out but I'm having some trouble with the home screen. It cleared all of my shortcuts on my home screen the other day, and so I just re-added them. However, this morning I looked at my phone and all of my previous short-cuts reappeared and are being overlapped by the ones I had put on the other day. Is there anyway I can clear the home screen again and just start over? or is there a way I can remove the shortcut from the home screen? any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

To remove anything from the home or any other screen long press on it. Then drag to the middle bottom where the trash can is.
