good note-keeping app?

On my old blackberry curve, I had an app where I could create a "note", title it whatever I wanted, open it and type whatever info I wanted in it. I used it to log my workouts in the gym. Is there a good app that will do something like this? I don't need a widget really just an icon app

Thanks everyone

Evernote. You can use voice or type. And it can sync with evernote online so you can see the notes on the computer.

Color note did it for me. You could organize the individual notes by date created, by group (you give them a color like color post-its), or date.

I also use gDocs and AKnotepad.

+1 WOW I just installed Evernote. Another great app. The on line sync is great, and fast.

This looks like another one I will be purchasing

I vote for Note Everything!

I second that recommendation. The Pro version has a number of great features including "durable checklists" that I use for grocery shopping. And they've just added support for exporting notes to Google Docs.

All in all, a great comprehensive solution to taking notes, recording voice reminders, notes on gallery photos, and "paint notes."

I've tried most of the apps mentioned and uninstalled them too. It's not that they weren't fine for note-taking, it's just that they loaded on boot and ran in the background. I have no need for reminders integrated into my notepad. If you like that, fine, but at least one app I tried didn't have reminders and still loaded on boot. Anyway, if useless background processeses are a pet peeve for you, try Papyrus in the market. VERY simple and just works. Are there any other good ones that don't load on boot?

I'm using Note Everything, it's the best one I've found so far, and it comes with nice features to send to your phone Really really nice. Can set up custom folders etc.
