Google released the final preview build of Android Nougat a few weeks back. One of the main features in Preview Build 5 was the new and improved Google Camera. The update brings the camera version to 4.1. The first thing you will notice in the updated camera is a list of new UI tweaks and animations. These changes include flattened settings layout, zoom animation when tapping a photo to view, new look for timer/hdr/flash toggles, hdr processing animation, volume key action options (shutter, zoom, volume), swipe left to right to open up the menu, and nav buttons dim when you open the app.
There were a few more major updates to the app which includes the ability to pause a video recording. A new gesture allows you to easily change between the front and rear camera. When you twist your phone away from you and back toward you in a twisting motion you will switch between front and rear cameras. The updated version of the app is available for download below, but unfortunately it will only work with Android Nougat 7.0.
