Google Chrome??

Does anybody here use it? Have it on my PC and tried it on my RAZR but it never shuts off, it is always running in the background eating away at my battery. If I force close it it will come back on in a few minutes. I really like it but what a major pain in the butt.

I had the same issue on my own droid razr... Chrome was running in the background and killing my battery... My phone is rooted and I use titanium backup and froze the app... It has helped quite a bit... Are you rooted?

On the Moto phones where Chrome is the default browser, it does indeed seem to always been in the top 2 or 3 battery "users" when you look at the list. If you have synced turned on, it's especially bad. You might try disabling a few features in sync, like open tabs - which would constantly be syncing if you use your desktop Chrome a lot.

On phones where Chrome isn't the default, it runs great (like the S3).

I use Chrome as my default browser and it syncs to my desktop. I just looked at Settings>Battery and Chrome is not listed as a top user. I then looked in GSam Battery Monitor Pro and it listed Chrome at 0.1% of my battery usage. Fwiw, my battery is at 60% having been on for 15 hrs, 26 min. It's the original Razr, not the maxx. I use google everything just about - gmail, calendar, contacts, chrome, music, etc. and my google acct is set to sync everything. So when I open up Chrome on my Razr, I can go right to any open tabs on my pc, use my logins, etc.

Just to say my experience is all positive with Chrome and with syncing with my pc.

I used chrome and finally shut chrome sync off, what a battery hog. To turn off chrome sync open chrome>menu>long press your gmail address> turn sync off. Now it's not a hog.
