Google Discovery

Android 11 - When I swipe left I access a Google Discovery page full of useless (to me) information and links. I can disable that feed but what I want is to remove it so I can use that spare blank page for links to some apps, which I do not locate on the home screen.

Depending on which phone you have there should be a setting to disable Google feed to the left. Which phone are you using?

Noika 4.2 , originally Android One and received an upgrade to Android 11. The left swipe screen shows Discovery has been disabled. I have also turned off all referecnes to Google Assistant. Also gone through all items and sub/sub menus in the Google app under my account by clicking ion my top right account picture

You should be able to long press on the home screen and they should be a setting to disable
But that option of long press has home settings - click that and I have the option to remove google app. That leaves me with one screen (the Home one) and no left swipe. I want to remove the discovery crap and then have two screens available. One as the home screen and a swiper (left or right) for links to other apps I use less regualarly.

Instead of using the screen to your left where you can do is you can long press and on your home launcher at a second screen to the right where you could put other links or apps that you frequently use and are of use for you

Just press and hold on an app and slide it to the right past the boundary of the 1st screen and should give you a second screen.
