Google Maps force closes

My google maps will not work. I have to use navigation alot and this is a huge pain! I've done everything its said to do online...clear cache, clear data, uninstall updates, reinstall, delete maps folder on sd card. Nothing works. Any ideas??

I have the same problem and have done all the same things as you. I unfroze TTS service and it works a bit better, but still force closes a lot.

It's a known issue on the Pro since version 5.0:

A lot of people have had to roll back to a pre-5.0 version. For some reason, I've never had a problem with Maps or Navigation crashing on me.

Google Maps used to force close all the time for me but then I figured out a work-around. Check out this thread I started for the details:

I downloaded googlemaps 4.5 apk, installed and everything is working fine.
