With Hurricane Irma expected to hit Florida in a couple of days, Florida governor Rick Scott has announced that the state is working with Google’s emergency response team to mark closed roads on Google Maps in real time. This will certainly be a huge help for residents with evacuation plans.
We are coordinating with Google’s emergency response team to prepare to close roads in Google Maps in real-time in the event that Hurricane Irma forces a closure of any roads in the aftermath of the storm. You will know if a road is closed.
