Google maps won't install!!

I am trying to update google maps and it won't install the update. Every time I try the phone says installation unsuccessful, package file was not signed correctly. So I tried uninstalling it and install it from the market, and that didn't work. Finally I tried to restore and now it won't even restore. How do I fix this?
