Google Play - now I can't play mp4?? Really??

Before Google Play was released, I was able to play all my music from iTunes without any problems. With the implementation of Google Play, now my music is rendered useless. Seriously??!!! I can't play mp4 nor wav files??? What's the point??

Does anyone have a work around?? I love my Droid X (unrooted), and the Android system, but this may force me to go Apple...
