Google posted on the Android Developer Blog that it is taking steps to cut down on developers trying to manipulate the ratings system on Play. They are implementing improved detection and filtering systems to try and stop some devs from using fake installs\reviews and incentivized ratings. If this type of behavior is detected, Google will apparently now be able to filter these things out. Devs that continue such fraudulent tactics could have ALL their apps removed from Play. It sounds like a good idea, but is this really something that is that easily detectable? I sure hope so. It would be nice to weed out those "5 star - no text" reviews.
