Google voice: Having calls to another number forwarded to your GV #?

Is this an iphone only thing because I can't figure it out.

A friend of mine has GV on his iphone. If he receives a call to his home number, that call is forwarded to his GV number, thus he gets the call on his cell phone. How do I do this? Only thing I know how to do is the exact opposite..forward a call to a different phone if a person calls your GV number, but I want it to be where someone calls my home phone and the call goes to my GV number.

You would need to use your home phone call forwarding settings. It's usually a star code of some sort... *73 perhaps? A google search should give you the answer to that. Be aware that some phone companies are still charging per minute for call forwarding...

GV can't forward calls to GV from other numbers. It has no control over them. Google doesn't provide your home phone service, right?

As stated above, set up forwarding from your home phone.
