What is a typical wait on a Google Voice invite?

Does GV have a method to accept faxes?

Took over a week for me.
I hated it. I don't understand the fascination with it.
Didn't really seem to do much. The voicemail to email never worked...

It can take anywhere between a couple days, to a couple months.

My suggestion if you want to try it is to just buy an invite from someone on EBay -- it costs the same as an app from the Market, and you get it just about immediately.

I know a lot of people dont like it, but I certainly do -- the voice-to-text works pretty well, with maybe 70% accuracy, but it can be perfect it someone enunciates.

I just like the idea of free Visual Voicemail.... anything else is gravy.

Have you tried the GV invite thread? I think it's in the Motorola Droid forum.

I hated it. I don't understand the fascination with it.

I love it. It's very useful. Just goes to show that nothing beats first hand experience.
