Google Voice Setup Question

I am trying to setup google voice on my phone. I go to settings, then to call settings then the voicemail service option. It lets me choose "My Carrier" or "Google Voice" When I choose google voice a screen comes up and says "Call Settings/Reading Settings" then sits there forever and nothing happens..Sometimes I get a screen that says to setup google voice on this phone you have to dial +11234567890 (a number) When I do this the verizon voice comes up and says my call cannot be completed as dialed...What am I doing wrong and why cant I get it setup on my phone

I had the same problem. I ended up logging into GV on my PC and followed the instructions from there. If I remember correctly it had me dial a different number than what my cell had and it worked fine.

It should instruct you to dial *71 followed by your GV number (to set up forwarding). Details on this feature code can be found on VZW's site:
