Maybe you can online through an app, but as far as I know the Droid 3 does not have an AM radio for receiving transmissions directly, only FM.

how come am is still popular in the US, in my hometown-Hong Kong, there is almost no am radio =.=

AM radio signals travel much farther. The USA is a big place.

It's mostly just for talk radio though. There aren't a whole lot of music AM radio stations that people listen to, since the fidelity is rather poor.
