Every now and then I stumble upon an article of a company making something for our devices but rarely do I pull the trigger. In fact last time I pulled the trigger I ended up wishing I didn't. The verdict is still out for this particular product but I will say I like the look. Toast (Home) makes a variety of cases and skins, that are made out of wood, for our devices. If you see from their site they make skins for the Nexus 5, Note 2, that company in Cupertino (Apple products) and more. I just ordered a custom for my mac book pro and when I get it I plan on doing a review.

Those are pretty nice looking indeed. I use clamshell holsters that cover up the back unfortunately. Nice find.

Oh, Its product is very nice.

To give an update I just received my toast wood mac book pro skin today. The weather caused some delay in me getting it but now I have it here is my review.

First off if you getting a skin for your phone then the sticker price will not hurt as bad though I will say that I did not feel a skin would provide the protection I needed for my phone. But since I still wanted to check it out I bought the skin for my mac book pro and there is where the sticker shock may knock you back a little. Altogether I spent just shy of 100 bucks (but I had it personalized). With that said the craftsmanship is a work of art, everything from the smell, the natural imperfections of the wood, to the feel. It took all of 5 minutes to apply the skin and the look just sets it a part from the standard run of the mill case. As far as protection, it will provide the amount of protection you would expect from a skin which is protection from nicks, dirt, and scrapes but not quite the protection of a drop (depending on what you drop it on). But since my mb rarely leaves my carpeted computer room I am not as concerned with having as solid protection as I am with my note 2 that goes with me every where I go.

SO overall I have to give this a buy if you want a different look and something other than the standard plastic case. The wood along with the ability to personalize it seems to add that sense of individuality. Yeah the price will sting you a little but when you open the package and you see the work put into the product and the details involved in making sure every piece is cut to perfection as well as the fact that it is a product designed and made here in the USA it takes away the sting a bit. As far as durability I will have to save that part of the review until I had it for awhile.
