GPS and apps??

How do you guys determine when the GPS antenna is suddenly displayed what app is using it? I have something pinging the GPS every so often and I can't figure out what app is doing it. I've gone to the systems-apps-running and killed everything. Yet it still runs.

Does the OS ping the GPS constantly?

You'll see a target type of icon on the top left of your notification bar. That's when you know its on
