GPS is not able to find my location on maps. Just keeps searching for satellite. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

I found an app that works pretty well in clearing ephemeris and almanac data. It's called GPS Doctor. The Automatic Quick Fix option seems to fix it most of the time.

Bought and downloaded GPS Fix ran the automatic gps fix. But still not able to find satellite.

Some ideas:
1) make sure Maps application is up to date
2) clear Map cache/data via applications > Maps
3) clear system cache partition using the "secret" menu on boot

If that doesn't work, I would consider a factory reset.

Another thought that someone mentioned in the Droid 3 forum is that if you're rooted you can change the server that the phone uses that is related to GPS. You wouldn't think that a server is needed, but it is for some reason. Apparently, the default server has been having problems lately and there's an alternative that you can use that works much better. See this thread: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-3/174535-gps-not-searching-signal.html

Also, as mentioned in that thread "GPS Status & Toolbox" may be a free alternative to the GPS doctor app mentioned here.
