GPS Stays On

I didn't see anything in the search for this issue I think I'm having.

I've always had my GPS turned on (use GPS sats checked) and for some reason the GPS icon on the top right corner comes on randomly when I'm not in a GPS used app or I'm on the homescreen. In the past it seemed that it only came on when I went to Maps or Navigation.
Has anyone had the same issue, I'd rather not have to turn it off and on when I need GPS because I know having it activated all the time drains the battery.

Sometimes the web browser can be using the GPS to locate you. Try opening the web browser app and close it again. See if that helps.
