Hi, all. I've been a Droid owner for six months, but I'm new to the site. My first Droid was the HTC Incredible for Verizon. It was my first "smartphone" and I'll never go back! I feel so much more connected to the world, and more confident while mobile (leaving other devices at home).
As the Incredible was my first Droid, I was satisfied with the stock operating system because it was all new to me. "Rooting" is a concept I would like to explore now, especially since I recently upgraded to the Incredible 2. dancedroid
First things first, though... As a new forum member, I'm wondering what the best method is for finding information and learning more about my phone. Should I first search the [vast sea of info among dozens of] forums/threads?... Or would I be better off posting a question somewhere and hoping another member can point me in the right direction?
For example, my first priority is figuring out how to recover some data from my old phone. My Incredible's screen cracked last week and I can no longer unlock the security pattern. I'm not worried about my contacts (obviously backed up) or music/images/etc. (on SD card), but I do want some data saved in a Notepad app and other info I had in some text messages. Can anyone help me? I tried performing a search for "bypass security" with no luck.
My next goal will be gaining root access and customizing my beloved. Thanks in advance for your guidance!!
