I too got stuck in this viscous cycle. 5 blackberries.I finally told the tech manager on the phone to cancel my contract. I told her u guys get over two hundred a month between my wife and and I that doesn't buy loyality then I'll buy it from another carrier. Ii was so sick of it it made me loose sleep. They finally got the picture that by sending me a new phone;droid; they could keep making money off me. Semper fi.

I know where you're coming from the only other time I've ever had a problem like this was when I had Alltel back in the day I had a phone catch on fire on me when i was sleeping. Alltel had a recall on the phone they didnt send it out to everyone or post it then when i asked about the problem they said i caused it, by not shutting the phone off to charge it!

Now all i wanted out of this was a NEW droid-1 not a "refurb" now I'm to the point where im saying **** this I WANT THE DROID-X!!

O i forgot to mention when i went to replace the phone the last time the customer service rep at a CORPORATE STORE was rude my cousin has tourettes syndrom and she was extremely rude asked him is he was on crack or drugs he explained he had a disorder and she kept on the drug subject saying he needed to leave the store! i reported her for being inconsiderate and not being considerate of conditions he couldnt handle! She was back to work the next week!
 
i'm in a similar situation. i'm on my fourth droid and this is getting ridiculous. if it breaks again i'm going to try to get a different model (and i dont just want a new one because it could have problems too). if i cant get it by being nice i might have to be a jerk. but they really should try a little harder to keep the customers happy. I'd be very happy with a refurbished incredible, its not a big deal. and i know they have done it for other people

Go big or go home! Droid-X! and trust me you're gonna have to be a jerk if not they aint gonna do **** for you!

but anyway, idk if being a jerk will be enough to get me one. so good luck to you, and hopefully to me also

ah im not a fan of HTC products it kinda seems like they're ****ting products out at the speed of light to get a head and theres now reason for that
 
I have actually sent two droid phones back that were sent to me to replace the one i have right now and I told the lady at the store if the same thing happens again with the third phone what can i do or what can you guys do about it? she said for me to talk to manager and see if he can get you a different phone. I really doubt it though since that guy is an ahole lol, but i guess i need to blow up and tell them off because i have all my family on verizon and thinking of adding another line.
 
I've noticed that every verizon rep acts the same, it is obviously some sort of corporate training. I'm on droid number 2, so far with no issues. I think everyone has a better chance calling in the issue rather than going into a store. At the store they are trained to be quick and effecient, therefore not worried about trying to give you what you want. If you call them at a call center I think they are more equipped to handle an irate customer, though they are probably still trained to try and give a fefurb over a new phone. I think if you threaten the fact you have multiple lines and the fact your willing to change companies if the problem isn't resolved how you expect it too, it should inspire some sort of action to your benefit in order to serve the corporation for the better
 
so step by step....

1. call make sure Verizon cant help you
2. speak with motorola or phone manufacturer explain the problem
3. find out motorola wont replace the phone
4. write a letter to Verizon Corp. and Moto/Htc Corp
5. if all else fails call freaking out threatening to burn **** down! lol

Now class please take note this is testable material BWAHAHAHAH!

yes, the store is a bunch of jerks.. i have 5 lines on my accout, 4 are smartphones, 3 of them have texting and the other uses it a ton without a plan. i think if i threaten to go somewhere i might get action,, its worked before.

I had new NEWS!!! Today was a VERY good day! Went into the store again today and showed them its ****ing up they wouldnt deal with me! told me i would get a refurb.

I then called Corp. and told them the issues they then transfered me to Tech. Support again tonight i explained the problem i was having and they tried telling me the same thing as the store rep said!

I then said welp ill just be canceling my plan then with all 5 lines being removed can you please transfer me over to whoever could help me with that? the lady then said o um let me talk to my manager a bit and see what i can do (what a change huh?)

She came back said sir. we dont have any phones that are compareable to what you have now i said welp better do something! she said well wait i wasnt finished, she says i dont know if you've ever used the "Droid-X" or not and im like a little when i was standing in the Verizon store today for 2hrs! lol she laughs

Then says SIR IF YOU WOULD BE INTERESTED WE'RE WILLING TO OFFER YOU THE DROID-X AT NO CHARGE, BUT ONLY IF YOU'RE INTERESTED.!!!
I said well um maybe i dunno needless to say by the end they threw in a

Droid-X
mini-hdmi to HDMI cable for phone to tv linking
AND
Compt. me a full month of service on that line!!! including data package!!!

So please if you're having issues and you're on phone 3 going on 4 or 4 going on 5 or worse CALL AND ***** !!! **** WILL GET FIXED!

Aowen7a, that's very helpful. I'm glad to hear they helped you finally. I think if this one breaks ill try the saMe. It should work then, so basically just threaten to cancel? Well thank you for the help
 
well i called and simply asked nicely, and she said the only way would be to buy a new phone. so i'll get another droid. if this breaks, how would a go about getting another one?

lets say i just nicely ask if i can get a different phone. -> they say no. -> so i go right into well im gonna cancel? or should i say well let me talk to a supervisor? then tell them they better find a way or i'll cancel? and will that work?

and what if they say, "well go ahead and leave, we wont help you"?-- or will that not happen?
