Handcent acting strange

I had handcent on my droid incredible 2 and it worked perfectly.. I recently bought the droid 3 and downloaded handcent again but this time when I apply a theme for my conversation list window it does not show the full theme. It only adds the theme piece by piece when I recieve texts.. How do I fix this???

I've been having serious lag problems along with other glitches with Handcent since upgrading from a OG Droid to a D3. I think handcent just needs a new update or something?
