Handcent icon notification while on Helix shortcut bar?

The Handcent widget gives a message count in the corner of the icon.

I like to keep Handcent on the Helix shortcut bar but I can only add the app icon and not the widget, so I don't get the number notification.

So, basically I want the number of unread sms to show on the Handcent icon while it's in the shortcut bar. Possible?

dont think so. i wanted that too, but since the helix n handcent are developed by two different people, i doubt we'll see that feature. sorry but heres a consolation prize dancedroid

Yeah, that's kind of what I figured since I couldn't find any info on it.

Can't you get the unread message count in the notification bar for Handcent? I would assume that that's a good replacement for the widget not showing the the HL shortcut bar.

Oh, of course, the notification bar option is fine. I'm just doing minor tweaking at this point.

This is, by no means, a deal breaker for either of the apps.
