I just upgraded from a Droid 1 to a Droid incredible and I am loving it thus far. I have created this thread to see how you all feel about the stock messenger vs. Handcent. For me, stock works a little smoother than Handcent. I'm curious to see how you all feel about it.

I prefer ChompSMS, but I did use Handcent for awhile.

Anything was better than stock imo

I use stock text and Gmail with SMS notifier and e-mail notifier, both by mapeapps and free on the market, for both. Works great for me.

Correct me if I'm wrong... only Handcent has the ability to customize reminder tones. That was very important to me.

I LOVE Handcent. It is fun to be able to send ecards, custom messages, custom greetings (colorful and cool). Also, you can customize the notification to the individual. dancedroid

handcent is no good. stock htc messaging is no good either. in my opinion if you want something clean get the original mms.apk from 2.2. i have it if you need a copy of it. unfortunately this requires root. i like how in the original mms.apk it lets you open pictures inside the gallery instead of giving you a 5 second slide show. boo you htc.

Handcent works great, I haven't had many major issues with it except for right when 2.2 came out, but most of the bugs seem to be fine.
